PO-EMotion -- Courage

SENECA ROCKS, WV

It's not enough
just to crawl to the top
plastering yourself to the rocks
in a smear of gravity.

Once you get there
you have to stand up
on your own two perilously unstable feet --
valiant and vertical.

  1. Seneca Rocks is beautiful--and rugged. I love the line "smear of gravity." I wrote about the courage to keep writing in Letting Loose

  2. I love "smear of gravity" and yes, you still must stand up on your unstable legs. This was such a good vision for me today as I go take the final test to become high school certified.

    1. And the kid in your poem had the courage to "stand up!"

  3. I love plastering yourself to the rocks in a smear of gravity. And vertical and valiant.
    And the photograph!

Today I had courage and tried something different-- a poem in two voices. I don't think it will format right in the comments.
