It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

I've read quite a bit over the last week. These are my favorites:-)

Two FABULOUS middle grade novels! LOVE LOVE LOVE both of these. (They do require some tissues though:-)

Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate

Paper Things by Jennifer Richard Jacobson

Three Books about People and History. These were all different but they were all great reads and I learned a great deal from each.

The Case for Loving by Selina Alko

Two Fabulous YA books that require lots and lots of tissues:

Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt

I'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

  2. Liked Winnie and Paper Things. Have Orbiting Jupiter on my TBR but not looking forward to MORE SADNESS. Sigh. My daughters are big Applegate fans (Animorphs, back in the day), so I'll have to take a look at Crenshaw. Thanks for the heads up.

  3. I CAN'T WAIT to read Crenshaw!! Orbiting Jupiter will be a must read for me because I love Schmidt's books. I just finished A Case for Loving and thought it was great. Winnie's wonderful, too.

  4. Wow, busy week! I have Paper Things in my enormous summer TBR pile - may have to move it up a few slots!

  5. Hi Franki, I have Crenshaw and can't wait to get to it really soon. I have heard so much about it. Paper Things is one of my favorite middle grade novels from this year. I have never seen Winnie, but who would't want to read about the bear who inspired Winnie-the-Pooh!!

  6. I've got some of these on my to read list. I think there is nothing better than a well written middle grade novel. They are satisfying without all the angst inherent in YA. That said, I'm still looking forward to Orbiting Jupiter cause I just love Gary Schmidt.

  7. I've heard of most, but not I'll Meet You There, will look for it, Franki. I liked Crenshaw a lot, have heard such wonderful words about Paper Things, too. Again, lots of good books this year! Thanks!

  9. I will be featuring the Wangari Maathai book for NFPB very very soon - such an exquisite book. I recommended Paper Things for purchase in my institution's library and it just came in! Really looking forward to reading it.
