Poetry Friday -- 10 New Poetry Books

For my Picture Book 10 for 10 post, I chose my 10 favorite poetry books for 2015 (so far). You can read a little about each on Monday's post.

If you missed this fabulous event, for which nearly 100 teachers, librarians, professors and parents shared lists of 10 picture books (with or without a theme), you should check out the posts in the +Google Community. Hide your credit card and keep a tab open to your local library!

Heidi has the Poetry Friday roundup this week at My Juicy Little Universe.

  4. I just found my way to the 10 for 10--just what I need to find that 1st Day of School readaloud for 2nd grade! And now you give me this, too! "Not done yet--"

  5. I've requested a couple from my library. It's always fun to see favorites.

  6. So glad to see Julie Paschkis's Flutter and Hum on your list. It's an extraordinary book, gorgeous visually, of course (as are all Julie P.'s books) but also extraordinary in terms of her love of the SOUND of words. (And thanks for the heads-up about other titles.)

  7. Great list! And thanks for plugging libraries! Everyone's tax dollars pay for public libraries, so I don't understand why some people never consider using them!

  9. As I think I said earlier this week, I think I only know two of these books. Getting out the library card (NOT the debit card) right now!

  10. Thanks for sharing all of these great books. I couldn't believe how many poetry books I had when I was organizing my new classroom library. I thought to myself, "Mary Lee would be so proud of me!" Now, I'm off to check these books.

  11. Mary Lee,

I don't have any of these books yet. Of course, I'd love to order all of them. Unfortunately, I have run out of shelf
    space in my bookcases.

I tried to post on Friday--but I haven't been able to connect to the Internet on my computer since last Thursday. My husband keeps losing connectivity on his laptop. We had Comcast out last weekend. Our Internet problems appeared to be solved. Now they are way worse than before. I hate Comcast!!!!!
