Poetry Friday -- Parched

PARCHED

It's not that the well
of creativity has
run dry

it's that those lovely
crystal spring-fed waters have
been channelized.

Groundwater runs deep.
And aquifers can be
recharged.

  1. So so true... Mary Lee, I wish you cool sips of water, from the deep depths and from the channels you work in and teach from each day. Big hug and way to write through it. Such an important reminder... xo

  2. Groundwater does run deep and when those waters find a crack they'll come through. Have a relaxing weekend, my friend.

  7. Happy that the way you wrote gives one way through to the moisture, Mary Lee. I think I'll post this nearby to give me a boost when needed.

Those "lovely/crystal spring-fed waters" can be fickle, can't they? You've written beautifully about a frustration we've all faced. Here's to recharging!

  10. I can relate to parched and channelized periods. Don't prod and dig, just rest, and let the ground water emerge on its own.

  11. Totally agree! All my creative waters (not to mention my energy) are being funneled into getting the school year up and running. Blogging? Writing? Ummm, not so much! Here's to those springs flowing again really soon!
