Two bike rides in a row inspire poetry. It's starting to feel like a pattern, like a thing. We'll see what happens this coming weekend!
Matt has this week's Poetry Friday Roundup at Radio, Rhythm & Rhyme.
Interesting where inspiration can come from, when we're paying attention!
ReplyDeleteI love this one! The pic, too. You could write a collection of the the things a child sees on a bike ride from x to y... what fun that could be! xo
ReplyDeleteGood morning, poets and ducks!
ReplyDeleteMary Lee, on an ordinary bike ride the out-of-ordinary can happen and you found just the right words to make it a special happening.
ReplyDeleteThat inspiration makes me want to see what I can find. Love your "slap-slap" & "gliding".
ReplyDeleteLove the slapping sound of the ducks on that path! Wonderful to be inspired while gliding by.
ReplyDeleteI love these glimpses from your bike rides. Those ducks seem to be having so much fun as they slap, slap, slap!
ReplyDeleteThis one made me smile--thanks, slap, slap!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! And when I saw your title and the ducks, it made me think of David Shannon's DUCK ON A BIKE! But come to find out...it was Mary Lee on a bike and the ducks were a bonus!
ReplyDeleteThat momma duck is giving you the look! Love these little flappings of poetry from your bike rides.
ReplyDeleteYes, as Margaret said, the female duck is looking at you. Fun poem and they are picture perfect, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love gentle celebrations of everyday joys. Even when the world seems to be falling apart around us, there are still quiet moments of joy to be found.
ReplyDeleteI love what you find when on your bike. The feet slap, slap, slap really make that poem. It's perfect.
ReplyDeleteKeep up those bike rides and soon it will become a habit. I don't have you remind you to keep up the poetry. You're already a maven! slap, slap, slap
ReplyDeleteLove the haiku! Such a familiar sight, those ducks. Keep riding... next week a heron a jay or a crow!
ReplyDeleteLovely, smooth glide there, Mary Lee.
ReplyDeleteQuack! Your blessing are our blessings, too. =)
ReplyDeleteI like haiku with sounds. HAs an authentic feel to it.
