Welcome to the first Friday of National Poetry Month! Susan has the Poetry Month Project Roundup for lots of Poetry Friday bloggers' projects. Today we'll get to see your work in progress!
The 2021 Progressive Poem is off to a great start! Follow its progress through the blogs at this post from Margaret.
And as for me? This year, all I can manage is a haiku a day. I briefly thought about skipping a year, but that didn't last. How could I NOT write a poem a day in April?!?!
Now, on to the roundup!
Thank you for hosting, Mary Lee! Although I don't love the April Fool's day forecast, I do love your April 1 haiku. The forsythia is just starting to open in my neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your daily haikus Mary Lee, and like the warmth coming from your forsythia. Thanks for hosting the roundup!
ReplyDeleteOur forsythia is being shy, and it did snow briefly this evening. Thank you for hosting today, Mary Lee! I'm looking forward to your NPM haiku.
ReplyDeleteHurrah for Poetry Month and thanks for being the start, Mary Lee. I'm still waiting for some color but our warm days starting today and for quite a few days ahead should bring it!

ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting! I'm looking forward to your haiku this month.
ReplyDeleteLet's get it started! Whoo hoo! I'm excited to read your Haiku Diary, Mary Lee (and no you canNOT skip a year; to write each day IS giving yourself grace. Are you tweeting them? I'm focusing on a poem a day in the private Facebook group I created as an accountability parking lot. I hope others might want to participate too (hint hint). Happy NPM!

ReplyDeleteLoving #haikudiary, Mary Lee. I was up at dawn to polish off my haiku for today, and was accompanied by sweet birds as well. Thanks for hosting! -- Christie @https://wonderingandwondering.wordpress.com/
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Mary Lee...and happy Poetry Month!
ReplyDeleteYou are so awesome, Mary Lee-- hosting, writing, teaching, and corralling us all! Happy Poetry Month!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting today! I love the haiku diary for National Poetry Month. Maybe I can manage that (even though I missed yesterday)!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! I'm so glad you are writing haiku this month.
ReplyDeleteYour haiku just had me glancing out the window to check on the local forsythia bushes! They're ready to pop! Thank you so much for a wonderful post. :)
ReplyDeleteMary Lee, I read both of your haiku; they so encapsulate the essence of spring. The flowering joy, the birdsong... that wren...just yesterday in a post I wondered: How can such a little bird have such a big voice? So full of glory, too. Many thanks for these and for hosting today.
ReplyDeleteHats off, Mary Lee, you are the bee's knees! Poetry Friday round-up, the Progressive Poem, and a haiku a day. Hope you find some time to relax this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Mary Lee. I am enjoying your daily haiku--and the Progressive poem. Can't wait until it's my turn for that one!
