Poem #10 -- Life Lesson

Be careful when
indulging in
extravagant
self
pity.

The Universe
is more than glad
to give a new
per-
spective.

A hole in your
hot water tank...
now there's a REAL
life
worry.

photo and poem by Mary Lee Hahn, copyright 2010

I played with rhythm today.
Seemed appropriate since the hot water tank played with the rhythm of my LIFE.

I hope your day got better. It has rhythm. I hate when the universe decides to give a new prespective.

  2. Oh, boy, Mary Lee! I'm still so overstretched that I find it hard to do much more than get my own posts up, but I've been wanting to say how much I appreciate your comments--and the knowledge that someone's reading them rather faithfully!

Love your cupcake alphabet (smooth as buttercream), love your reverso (so so difficult, I found), love this blog. Thank you!

I don't have trouble with the beginning of the day but always with endings. This year we were supposed to close with singing, but we haven't sung really in weeks. I suppose the good news is that it's getting squeezed out by the need for more and more writing time....

  4. Heh. Hole in the water tank -- yes, that is a real problem.

    Ugh on the water heater!

Great way to use some of that frustration in your poem. Hope the next of melody is better.

  6. Oh My... We had a flood three weeks ago when the pressure regulator tank sprung a leak... shot a six inch hole in the drywall... flooded most of the basement. Still have all the boxes from the basement upstairs... sorting, tossing, and organizing! A geyser... Glad you caught this early!
