SKEPTIC
Head tilted,
one eyebrow arched,
lips pinched:
Are you sure?
Seven days a week?
Really?

That skeptic lives inside my head, but I'm going to ignore her.
Will writing a poem a day that either uses an emotion word or evokes that emotion be any harder than writing a poem a day about obscure wonders of the world?
("Um...yes," says my skeptic in my ear.)
Sorry, skeptic. We're doing this. And any of YOU who want to come along for the ride are invited to join us for an April that will LITERALLY be an emotional roller coaster!
I've created a list of 30 emotions that various researchers have identified, using this resource. I'll publish the list next week. I made my graphic for this year using a public domain, no-attribution-necessary image and the graphic design site Canva.
My poem today is for Heidi's MarCH CHallenge.

Well, ok, then, here we go! I will start getting myself ready to emote with you!

ReplyDeleteI've been wondering what you were planning, and this is a great idea! As Tabatha said, you've got this, Mary Lee. I'll join in as often as I can. Writing a poem every day is very different for my brain from writing a slice of life daily. I love how you used Heidi's CH words to launCH your project. Happy Friday!

Your emotion theme, and visual chart, made me think of emoticons/emojis--That lead me to try to make one look like a fish.

ReplyDeleteSounds like fun, Mary Lee! I'm in awe of all of you are are coming up with such great and original month-long challenges. I'm also in awe of the folks who are finding time to fit them all in. :/ Maybe I need to set a challenge of joining in everyone else's challenges at least once. That should be doable, right?

ReplyDeleteYou already have a plan for April's poetry extravaganza! You amaze me. I don't have a plan yet, but know I'm going to join the fun. I think my plan might have been formulated as I skipped around poetry blogs this morning. I'm going to let it settle in my mind for a few days to see if it has potential.
