Two PUBLIC SCHOOL teachers who read. A lot.
I hope...I hope...I hope a new world is waiting for us, too! Great little poem, Mary Lee!
I know I'm gonna get me some of that new again!
Mary Lee, there is inspiration and hope in this little nugget of poetry.
Rebirth right before autumn–I'm ready for "a layer that pulls back," beautiful–I like your seed pod image too, thanks Mary Lee!
Actually, it's an empty black swallowtail chrysalis, but seeds work for the metaphor, too!
It does look like a chrysalis, what fun!
Yes, it is layered, and I love when it sheds some of its old skin and offers us hope again. Gorgeous little poem.
Oooooh. I think I need to be shedding me some skin! :D
Simple words hold a huge truth...arranged in a beautiful way. Thank you. What a lovely poem to read early in the morning.
Your poem offers a welcome ray of hope. Thanks for offering a positive perspective!
So true Mary Lee. Perfect sentiment for fall or spring. Love that image, too! -- Christie @ https://wonderingandwondering.wordpress.com/
Your poem speaks the truth!
What a lovely, hopeful thought!
Such a hopeful poem! I hope we are currently in the process of shedding some layers to reveal the world new again.
This is so simple, yet so profound. Beautiful!
Mary Lee, I am smiling really big at the thought that I gave you a mentor text! :-)
So true. This poem achieves the epiphany. Well done.
Lovely. And "shrugged" is a terrific word choice!
