Up
UP
The optimism of cream --
rising.
The power of frog legs --
leaping.
The cheer of sunny sides --
inspiring.

Two PUBLIC SCHOOL teachers who read. A lot.
How wonderful to put those things together: cream, frogs, the sun. How surprising and yet how perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove this! The imagery you evoke in so few words, Mary Lee...to remix and reuse what you've done with these paint chips: your words rise off the page, leap out and inspire.
ReplyDeleteYes! Clever and refreshing.
ReplyDeleteThese look like paint sample names, though I would be astounded to hear of a paint color called "grateful." The title is apt; so very "up" kinds of thoughts! Here's to rising further.
ReplyDeleteMary Lee - Your lovely poem today, and indeed the entire post, is giving me permission to just use the paint color names as inspiration. I've been trying to weave them all together to create a poem. This isn't always easy! Thank you for that! Also, will the call for PF hosts July-December be going out soon? I missed it the last time around. Thanks! -- Christie https://wonderingandwondering.wordpress.com/
ReplyDeleteThe call for July-Dec PF roundup hosts goes up in June.
DeleteGreat! I'll be watching for it. Thanks!
DeleteI love how you connected the colors to the word "UP." Pretty darn clever, my friend!
