feathers fluttering

Not just the hawk, but the FEATHERS! My new right lens is nothing less than a miracle. Next Wednesday, my left eye joins the party. I am truly seeing the world anew. It's flat-out amazing.
Jama has the Poetry Friday Roundup this week at Jama's Alphabet Soup.
What a wonder! What a coincidence...I've been thinking, as the the light dims day by day, that it might be my eyes as much as the season. So glad you are able to enjoy this miracle of feathers.
ReplyDeleteWow! Sounds like a big change for you! Another friend of mine had this done this week and is saying the same thing. Thinking it might be time for a trip to the eye doctor!
ReplyDeleteWonderful imagery, Mary Lee! Congrats on your new view.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you, Mary Lee! In September I got lens implants in both eyes (not cataracts, I just had worsening eyesight and could no longer deal with three different pairs of glasses). I now have perfect eyesight for the rest of my life (or will have when the fog clears). It is miraculous indeed. Enjoy those details!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you! I remember so well when I first got my glasses (at age 9) and had similar revelations...
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Fantastic--and lovely haiku to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Mary Lee! Can't wait to see what happens to your poetry now, with your bionic powers of observation. I certainly like what I saw today! :)
ReplyDeleteI remember my father having a similar reaction after his cataract surgery. Good luck with the next surgery.
ReplyDeleteYay! My mother said something equally astounded -- you forget how much you haven't been seeing. It reminds me of getting glasses between class periods in second grade -- what was once fuzzy blurs on a chalkboard were suddenly LETTERS!!
ReplyDeleteCrisp poem from your new lens Mary Lee! Hope your healing moves along and all the best for next week's surgery, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHooray for clarity! Happy feather watching.
ReplyDeleteHooray! And, of course you would celebrate with a poem. Enjoy your new eyes!
ReplyDeleteToday I had my one year followup appointment after having cataract surgery. I, too, have been in awe of all that I can now see. I remember the first time I drove after having both surgeries completed, I am stunned I didn't cause a car accident - I was so in awe of the clouds that I had a hard time focusing on the street in front of me. Congrats on a successful surgery!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Your eyes can see clearly now and you celebrated with a commemorative poem. Isn't it great to see the world in living colors?
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous, and how fitting that you celebrated with your lovely poem! My husband and I were just reminiscing about when we first got glasses and how wonderful it was to realize that trees had individual leaves and weren't just green blobs! Enjoy and good luck with the next procedure!
ReplyDeleteHooray! 'Clearly' you know how to celebrate your new in-sight...with poetry. =)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your surgery was successful! I love the fluttering feathers of this hawk. Looking forward to more poems written with your new and improved vision!
ReplyDeleteYea for renewed vision! And such a haiku to celebrate. May you see many more feathers!
ReplyDeleteTerrific! Both the poem and the clear-sightedness. Yay!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!
