Be Prepared

no Swiss Army Knife
adequately prepares you
for a broken heart

I opened my Everyday Offerings book after I heard the announcement from Governor DeWine that our schools would be closed for the remainder of the year. It wouldn't have mattered if I had seen this before I heard the announcement. I knew it was coming. I was not prepared.

  1. Ach, Mary Lee. I'm sorry. We got that news much earlier, but yeah... it's not going to happen. I can imagine that you must feel a revulsion to continue the screen school thing - it's hard, isn't it? And yet, I know people SO appreciate the work you're doing.

Thank you for doing it. ♥

  2. I'm sorry, Mary Lee. Living in the land of SAK, I'm sorry they can't mend your heart, but I do know Swiss chocolate will help, if only temporarily. If we are ever able to meet in person, I will bring you a bar. Sending you a virtual hug. :)

  3. We found out a couple of weeks ago. Like you, I kind of knew, but I really did not want it to be true. I cannot imagine not saying goodbye to the kids. I guess the good news for me is that most of them will be back next year, as far as I know, so the possibility exists of seeing them again. Kids ask me every day about the stuff in their lockers.

  5. You sum up the disappointment well, Mary Lee. Thinking of you and all of the other teachers, students and families feeling the same way.
