This is stop-action animation, NOT a video project. We shot about 100 still photos to make this movie!
A big thanks to A.J., my photographer for this project. (He's channeling Ray Harryhausen, whose stop-action animation for Jason and the Argonauts is "still the best.")
The next time I do a stop-action video, I will make sure we shoot at least twice as many photos. I can't wait to show this to my students and to give them a chance to try it, too -- it's quite fun!!
That looks like a lot of fun! I am anxious to pick up one of those Flip videos and start playing around myself.

Jenny, It took about 45 minutes to shoot about 100 photos. I had the idea planned out in my head, and my box full of doo-dads that live on the wall behind my desk ready to put up.

What software did you use to edit and create the stop-action video?

This is great! My son Joey has about 100 photos that he took of a lego adventure that he wanted to make into a stop-action animation. I didn't even know what to call it until your post. Did you just plop them into imovie or is there a specific stop action format in imovie?
