Poem #4, National Poetry Month, 2012
Cathy, at Merely Day By Day, is joining me in a poem a day this month. Other daily poem writers include Amy at The Poem Farm, Linda at TeacherDance, Donna at Mainely Write, Laura at Writing the World for Kids (daily haiku), Liz at Liz in Ink (daily haiku), Sara at Read Write Believe (daily haiku)...and YOU?
Love the opposition in the 2 stanzas. Some people just have a gift with few words - you would be one of them. Great poem!
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell the difference, too. I'll be back tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteDid you call the local weatherman or just get really lucky today with this poem? Perfectly placed on today's blog. I think I will be using it on Poetry Friday for a review of antonyms-love it!!
ReplyDeleteI'd say I got really lucky, but think about spring in Ohio...not much of a risk to write about changing weather.
DeleteMy mom tells me that the weather is dry, dry, dry in Eastern Colorado...I wish I could send some of Ohios rain to them!
Love this, Mary Lee! So fun to read aloud!
ReplyDeleteLove that final 'round! It's a quick change here-80's on Sunday, snow by Tuesday-love it! We could use the pounding rain too, but it's so rare. I love the quick time of your poem, Mary Lee, just like the change of weather!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Karen. Isn't that the perfect way to describe Ohio? The last two days have been exactly what you describe. Crazy! I really like the way the first 3 words in each stanza gave me such a vivid picture, and the last three added a little sound. Loved it! Laura is right --- fun to read aloud.
