I still read Lafcadio to the kids now and then. We especially enjoy the section that describes Lafcadio's growing prowess with the gun, a section that I like to read twice: first, with as few breaths as possible (to enjoy the sound and the rhythm of the words) and then slowly (to savor the absurdity of the images.) :)
