Teachers

We're up to 119 on our list of Cool Teachers in Children's Literature.

Cool Gate has The 15 Most Inspiring Teachers in Films.

Would it be okay if I worked on being cool and inspiring instead of doing report cards?

Yeah, that's what I thought you'd say.
Okay, then. See you next week.

  1. What a great list! I think Miss Bonkers from Hooray for Diffendoofer Day deserves an honorable mention. She teaches useful things and puts the students at ease before a huge mandated test... AND she does cartwheels. How cool is that?!

  2. I want to nominate Miss Meadows and Mrs. Rossi in REMEMBERING MRS. ROSSI. Miss Meadows is Annie Rossi's third grade teacher the year Annie's mom dies. She supports Annie, lends her a special pen to write a story about her mom, (also sends her to the office when she doesn't do her division problems!)

Mrs. Rossi brings books in Wagonloads to her fifth and sixth grade students and hosts a special lunch in honor of the cafeteria lady when she finds out her students have been unkind. Reading her students' vignettes, it's clear that she was an amazing teacher.

Like you, MaryLee, I would like to be one of these lists, but right now I'm drowning in the administrivia of being the state testing coordinator for my building.
