Working for Change

Working For Change

who puts his or her talent and effort
toward changes for the better
has tremendous

(Much more than the negative people,
the destructive people.)

Because they have history
on their side
and they have the desires of the people
on their side
so they really can be very powerful
without all that much effort.

If you want to change
you can’t be desperate
even if the situation is difficult.
The fact that it’s good for the cause,
it’s good for you.
Because you become part of a community
that’s working to change
and that’s a very healthy thing.

You’re not just
but you’re working.

That will take away your blues.”

This is a found poem, a direct quote from Malvina Reynolds, taken from “Love it Like a Fool: A Film About Malvina Reynolds” at 25:35.

  1. "That will take away your blues." A good start for the month. It will be inspiring to hear Malvina's voice this month, Mary Lee.

  2. Desire creates power without much effort! Love it!

  3. I'm struck by how this signifies community.
Her works are uplifting - our progressive community all over
    all over the USA
    all over North America
    all over the Western Hemisphere
    all over the Globe

  4. I hope more individuals become part of this community of change, thanks for this poem!

  5. This is such a neat project. I love that you just stumbled upon this woman, and sort of ran with her.

  6. I learn so much from you ML. Thank you.
