A note to my younger self:
Don't take the world so seriously.
You don't always have to do as you're told.
Snatch off that silly bonnet
and run towards freedom.
Make your move, and make it bold.

Two PUBLIC SCHOOL teachers who read. A lot.
Love it! "Snatch off that silly bonnet and run towards freedom."
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that - the picture and the idea of snatching and running.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is TOTOALLY a poem I could have written to my younger self. And my OLW - BOLD! Sweet!
ReplyDeleteI've been so enjoying finding your poetry month poems in my inbox, Mary Lee! This one is no exception--love that advice to snatch off that silly bonnet (words some of us still need....)
ReplyDeleteOh, that face! All she needs is your encouragement and that silly bonnet is GONE!
