First Day Read Alouds at Choice Literacy
There is a great new article at Choice Literacy about great read alouds for the first day of school. It is written by Shari Frost--thought since we were chatting about the beginning of school, some of you might be interested. I already ordered one of the books on the list!

Oh, boy. I can't wait to check out the read-alouds. But WOW, the new format looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Franki - your cul-de-sac neighbor Julie here. I've never posted a comment before so thought I'd give it a shot. I usually read How to Be Cool in the 3rd Grade by Betsy Duffey. It's mainly about a boy named Robbie and how he deals with a bully during the first week of school. Not the best book in the world, but new 3rd graders seem to identify with it even though it's a bit dated. It's an easy and short read and helps to launch a discussion about how we treat one another, etc. See you Wednesday!
